3 RV Purchasing Tips for Camping in 2022

May 9, 2022 | RV Maintenance, RV Tips

Are you considering purchasing an RV for the 2022 camping season? Here are 3 RV tips to save you time and money so you can focus on enjoying adventures in your new RV!

1. Get a Pre-Purchase RV Inspection

If you are buying an RV this camping season, we STRONGLY recommend that you schedule a pre-purchase inspection. This is our number one RV tip – and for good reason!

During the frenzy ahead of camping season, many RV Dealers eager to make sales often miss communicating information about:

  • Propane Systems (Safety Concern)
  • Roof Seals (Due to Reseal Cost)
  • Water Entry Points (Since Problems Mean Decreased Value)
  • Extended Warranty Options

A pre-purchase inspection can save you from encountering a large repair bill after you have already driven the unit off of the lot. Plus, if problems are uncovered, it can increase your bargaining power.

Many of our customers that have used this service have said it was even more valuable than they expected!

2. Extended Warranty Plans are a Smart Investment

One of the most important RV tips we recommend for RV owners is purchasing an extended warranty. Without one, the repair and/or replacement of certain parts of your RV can be extremely expensive if things go wrong. For example, here are some average parts + labour costs for RV repairs:

– Fridge: $4000 – $12000

– Water Heater: $1700

– Furnace: $2400

– Water Pump: $ 300

– Awning Motor: $1200

– Electric Steps: $500 – $1500

– Air Conditioner: $2000 – $3000

RV Mobile Edmonton is an authorized service centre for all of the major warranty companies. That means, if you ever need a repair, you do not have to haul your RV to your dealership. You can either bring your RV into our shop, or take advantage of our convenient mobile service!

With extended warranty repairs at RV Mobile Edmonton, there is no money out of your pocket. That’s because the repair costs are paid directly to the authorized repair facility! We will also cover your deductible up to $100 when a claim exceeds $750.00.

3. Get All of Your RV Parts and Accessories From a Trusted Supplier
